Assessment blog
Hello dear readers!!!
We’ve come to the end of our journey as bloggers.
Before I start with this week’s topic, I really want to say a big thank you to all of you! Also, I want to give a virtual applause to each of you! We have done our best!
Now, let’s move to our last topic. Assessment.
You must be aware that assessment is not the same as evaluation. They have a huge difference, so please don’t confuse them. Assessment is the process of gathering and analyzing information about a student's learning progress. A traditional form of assessment involves paper-and-pencil tests, essays, assignments, and projects. However, with the advancement of technology, assessment has changed forms, or better said, has gained new, innovative forms 🙂.
When you use technology in assessment, it changes the way you gather, analyze and respond to information about student learning. First and foremost, technology allows for more authenticity, flexibility, and personalization in assessments. For instance, online quizzes and interactive multimedia learning activities provide instant feedback to students and offer a wide range of interactive experiences, making assessments more engaging and motivating for students (like we have done with our presentations).
Moreover, digital means allow for continuous, ongoing assessment, providing a more comprehensive picture of a student's learning progress over time. Additionally, with the use of digital tools like plagiarism detectors, teachers can easily detect and track plagiarism, reducing academic dishonesty. Moreover, teachers can customize assessments based on a student's learning needs, making them more inclusive and adaptive.
In conclusion, as technology continues to advance, it is essential to harness its potential to change the traditional methods of assessment. This will enable educators to create more diverse, interactive, and personalized assessments that provide a more accurate reflection of student learning. By embracing technological innovations in assessing student learning, we can provide better feedback, identify areas of improvement, and enhance the overall teaching and learning process.

It was fun writing and sharing my thoughts here with you!
Hi Stela💗
ReplyDeleteI want to start by congratulating you on the effort you put into these postings. You covered each issue with the greatest clarity and personally they helped me in learning more. Thank you!😊
Regarding this topic, I really liked that you started by explaining the difference between assessment and evaluation, as they are often confused. I agree with everything you said. Technology brings good benefits when we want to assess our students and as you mentioned, our presentations were the best result to demonstrate it. I think the best advantages of using technology in assessment are the instant feedback and plagiarism checker.😉
